Extension cords, halogen lamps, hot plates, and other appliances that pose a hazard to the safety of residents or that places an extraordinary load on the electrical systems are prohibited. 

Each room is equipped with a refrigerator and microwave. They must be emptied, cleaned out and unplugged during semester breaks to avoid rotting food.
