Updated on

In the event of a student death, the family contact may request the degree be awarded posthumously by contacting the Dean of Students. Awarding a posthumous degree requires the following criteria be met:

  • The student must have been in a degree seeking undergraduate program with senior standing (completion of at least 90 credits).
  • The student must have been in good academic standing at the time of their death (a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher).
  • The student must have been registered in one or more undergraduate classes at CIA within one academic year.
