Students have the right to petition when a situation occurs from extenuating circumstances regarding their academics. The Petition Form allows students to petition to late add a course, overload credit, request an incomplete grade extension, and other academic related requests. A statement of explanation is required for all requests. Petitioning does not guarantee approval of the request. All Petitions are reviewed by the Petition Committee, and students are notified of the final decision from the Registrar’s Office. Petition forms can be provided from Academic Advising or the Registrar’s Office. Students cannot petition degree conferral with less than the minimum credits required to graduate, degree conferral with less than the cumulative 2.0 GPA required, removal of the “W” mark for late course drops, extenuating circumstances absences, final grade appeals, or academic accessibility accommodation related items.
