In addition to your CIA Keeper account, you also have the option to activate a free Family Plan. The Account is not managed by CIA.
Personal Keeper setup is nearly the same process as setting up your CIA Keeper account.

You will need to start by logging into your CIA Keeper Account Vault.
Access the vault through the browser extension or https://keepersecurity.com/vault/
Once logged in:
- Open your account name dropdown
- Select Account
This first personal account will become the manager of the "Family Account." Make your personal account FIRST.

- Make sure you are on the 'Subscription' tab
- Enter the personal email address you want to receive a Personal Keeper account
- Select 'Send Email'
- After sending the email invitation the Personal accounts will be listed below your account on the 'Subscription' tab
Email invitation
The new account process begins with the Email Invitation. If you are inviting family members, create your personal account first. Then repeat the process for others.
You may want to share this article with them, or assist them in setting up their account.
The email invitation will come from "Keeper Team" with the subject "Keeper Security: Keeper Family License for Personal Use"

The email explains the invitation and requires email verification within 6 hours of receipt. If the email is not verified within the six hours you will need to send another invitation.
- Open the keeper email
- Select 'Verify Email Address'
- The Keeper vault page will open indicating the email verification has been successful
- Create the Keeper account by selecting 'Sign Up'
Creating the account
Once the email address is verified the next step is create a password for the account.


- Enter the email address (if it isn't already)
- Select 'Next'
- Check for a new email from Keeper containing a Security Verification Code

- Copy and paste the Verification Code from the email
- Select 'Verify'
Congratulations the account has been created!
You're able to invite 4 additional Personal (family) accounts.
- After logging into your personal Keeper account
- Open the account window and confirm you see the 'Subscription' tab
- Select 'Manage'
- Enter the family members email address
- Select 'Send'
- Make sure they know to look for the email and what Keeper is. Until they verify their email and create the account they will be marked as "Invited"

Recommended Steps for best use of Keeper or any Password Manager
- Install the Keeper Browser extension/add-on/plug in (Web Browsers use different terms) and pin it to the browser address bar for easy access.
- Install the Keeper app on your smart phone
- Set up 2 factor authentication - this will require a 2 factor app on your smartphone
- Use Keeper often to generate, store, and retrieve all of your passwords -one password to remember and have access to all of your other passwords
- Generate the account recovery phrase and save it somewhere safte, just in case you forget your password and need to recover your account
